Carl F. Bauman Jr., 65, of Breckenridge, Minnesota, died November 3, 2005 at his home in Breckenridge, Minnesota. His funeral will be held Monday, November 7, at 11:00 A.M. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge.

Officiating will be Rev. Dale Vitalis. Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2005, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. Interment will be at the Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton, MN, with military honors by the Wilkin County Honor Guard.

Carl is survived by: His 4 children: Jodi (Mike) Tracy, Wolverton, MN; Kimberly Bauman, and her husband, Nick, Fargo, ND, Lisa Bauman (and her friend, Joe Keaveny), Wahpeton, ND, Timothy Bauman, Breckenridge, MN; His grand children: Allexis, Morgan, Elise and Neve Tracy; Sephen Keaveny and Christopher Bauman; His 6 sisters: Joyce Gimmestad, St. Paul, MN; Joan (Myron) Bruer, Alberta, MN; Betty Carpenter, Bremerton, WA; Rose (Ray) Olson, Buffalo, MN; Marjorie McLaughlin, Bremerton, WA; Dorothy (Art) Freitag, Bremerton, WA; His 2 brothers: Richard, Fargo, ND; George, Coon Rapids, MN; Many nieces and nephews

History:     Carl Fredrick Bauman Jr. was born November 13, 1939 the son of Carl and Clara (Heyes) Bauman in Taylor Township, near White Rock, SD. As a child he moved with his family to Herman, MN, where he grew up and attended school. Following his formal education, he stayed at home and worked on his parent's farm.

On May 3, 1969, Carl was married to Linda Dokken at Benson, MN. They made their home in Fargo, Moorhead, Benson and Wheaton while Carl worked for a roofing company. He also farmed near Herman and worked on the railroad. Carl was a member of the Army National Guard for 29 years, serving with the Morris and Wahpeton units. He was currently working towards obtaining his high school GED. Carl enjoyed collecting commemorative coins, American flags, music from the 50's and 60's, bald eagles, and railroad memorabilia. He also enjoyed going for walks.

Carl was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fargo, and the American Legion in Breckenridge. He will be remembered for his strong faith in God, and his love for his family and country. He was an extremely dedicated and loving father and grandfather.
