David Krause

November 17, 1948 — April 8, 2012

David Allen Krause, 63 of Breckenridge, MN died on April 8, 2012 at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. The visitation is at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge on Thursday April 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00. The funeral is 2:00 pm Friday, April 13 at Grace Lutheran Church, Breckenridge. There is also a visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Officiating is Pastor Ryan Drevlow. The interment is at Riverside Cemetery in Breckenridge.
David was born November 17, 1948 to Elmer and Frances (Gira) Krause in Wahpeton, ND. He grew up in Mantador, ND and Nashua, MN and went to school in Campbell, MN He worked on the family farm for a time then went to work at Wil-Rich in Wahpeton. He entered the US Army in June of 1968 and served for two years. On November 19, 1969, David was united in marriage to Marlys Johanson. Upon his discharge from the Army, he went back to work at Wil-Rich where he remained until his retirement in 2011. He was employed there for 44 years.
David took pleasure in camping and fishing. He loved to play cards and spend time with family and friends. Any extra time he had was spent tinkering on cars.
David is survived by his sons Dennis (Sarah) Krause of Breckenridge, MN and Dean (Amanda) Krause of Wahpeton, ND; his daughters Carla (Wes) Evenson of Breckenridge, MN and Lea Ann Vergal of Breckenridge, MN; his seven grandchildren; his sisters Carolyn Woizeschke and Joyce Barton both of Nashua, MN and Margie Krause of North Liberty, IA.
David is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Frances Krause; his brothers Harold, Wayne, Kenneth, Dennis and Ronald.
