Delight Loeks

Delight Loeks, 78, died Tuesday evening surrounded by her family following a graceful and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church , Campbell , MN with Pastor Carl Berner officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 4 PM to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery , Campbell , MN .

Delight was born on September 20, 1930 on a farm near Fergus Falls , MN to Sander and Evelyn (Erickson) Vigen. She grew up on various farms in the area and she attended several schools and graduated from Campbell High School in 1950.

Delight was united in marriage to Wildy Bird Loeks on October 1, 1950 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls , MN . They made their home in rural Campbell , MN where they farmed and raised their family. After retiring in 1985 she and Wildy cleaned for various businesses for 18 years. Wildy preceded her in death on October 27, 2003 and she continued to live on the farm.

Delight was a member of St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church and for several years was chairperson of the LWML. She enjoyed cooking and hosting parties. She also liked her flower garden and attending functions for her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her “Delight”.

Delight is survived by, her daughter, Jennifer (Steven) Anderson, Erhard, MN; her five sons, Ben Loeks, Campbell, MN, Larry (Reva Jean) Loeks, Kimball, NE, Douglas (Lynnae) Loeks, Wahpeton, ND, Dennis (Karen) Loeks, Maple Grove, MN, Darryl Loeks, Campbell, MN; her 15 grandchildren, Maunette, Regina, Trinity, Trapper, Joshua, Erica, Jacob, Samantha, Brianna, Taylor, Cody, Keidra, Amanda, Joanna, Benjamin; her 7 great-grandchildren, Abigail, David, Ian, Ryan, Jarod, Alexis, Collin; her sister, Dorothy Bjerkness, Fergus Falls, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by, her parents, Sander and Evelyn Vigen; her husband, Wildy Bird Loeks; her sisters, Gloria, Irene, and Eva Dell; her brothers, Norman and Sander.
