Dolores Steenblock

Dolores Steenblock, 74, rural Campbell, MN, died August 15, 2005, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND.
She was born December 25, 1930, the oldest of six children born to George and Lola (Henderson) Schuetze at Foxhome, MN. She grew up in Foxhome, attended Foxhome Public School through the Eighth grade and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1948. She worked in her mother's cafes in both Foxhome and Campbell, MN and also did hairdressing.
On February 24, 1949, she married Alden Russell Steenblock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Campbell. They lived on their farm west of Campbell and raised two sons, Lynn and Dale. Dolores was a busy farm wife preparing meals for the farm workers, discing, plowing and hauling grain to the elevator. She also enjoyed keeping her yard looking like a "golf course." In the 1970's Alden and Dolores also did crop adjusting for Federal Crop. She was a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid and Royal Neighbors. Dolores also served on the Wilkin County Community Health Service Advisory Committee for nearly 20 years. Since 1998, she has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Breckenridge, MN.
Alden and Dolores spent their winters in Bullhead City, Arizona. Alden passed away on December 11, 1997, and she has missed him so, ever since. Dolores continued to spend winters in Arizona and summers on her farm. She enjoyed visiting and playing bridge with her friends at Riverview R. V. Resort and going for suppers at the Northern Grille and Hills 210 Cafe with friends.
She is survived by: Her 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Lynn and Carolyn Steenblock, Forest Lake, MN; and
Dale and Kari Steenblock, Rural Campbell, MN; Her grandchildren: Dustin (fiance' Renae Selzler), NDSU graduate, Campbell, MN; Kelsey, student at NDSU; and Blake, student at University of Minnesota Crookston; Her sister: Rita (Dennis) Ehrens, Wahpeton, ND; Her brother: Steve (Jo) Schuetze, Blaine, MN; Several nieces and nephews
She is preceded by her parents: George and Lola Schuetze; Her husband: Alden Steenblock; Her brothers: Lowell and Floyd Schuetze; Her sister: Ramona (Harold) Murray; Her niece: Darlene Ehrens
Visitation: Wednesday, August 17, 2005, 6:00 PM - 7:30PM, Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church
