Donna Mae Meyer, 72 of Breckenridge, MN died October 16, 2010 at St. Francis Health Care Campus of Breckenridge, MN. The funeral is Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:30 am., Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, ND. Officiating is Pastor Morris Stephens. The visitation is Wednesday, October 20, from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. Pallbearers are Terry Marohl, Chris Salo, Sy Hansana, Chad Meyer, Curtis Marohl, Matt Pausch. Honorary Pallbearers are Shannon Wynn, Noel Salo, Kasey Meyer, Samantha Meyer Nicholas Lacher, Desiree` Lacher, Stephanie Pausch, Jamie Marohl, Jonathon Marohl, Christopher Bond. Interment is Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge.
Donna was born to Erhardt and Dorothy (Gruenberg) Marohl on September 17, 1938 in Duerr Township, Richland County, ND. She grew up on a farm southeast of Lidgerwood, ND as the only girl of four children. She was baptized on October 16, 1938 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Lidgerwood, the same church that she was confirmed in on May 24, 1953. Donna attended Duerr Number 1 Country School. Upon moving to Wahpeton in 1958, she became actively involved in her church singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and was a VBS leader. On July 25, 1959 Donna was united in marriage to Edward Meyer, Jr. in Grace Lutheran Church of Breckenridge. Donna worked at various places including the Scottwood Motel and St. Francis Home as a cook while she and Ed were raising their children. In her spare time Donna enjoyed crafting, embroidery and baking, particularly Christmas baking. Donna was especially fond of listening to Gospel and Country music and had a tender place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, adoring every minute she got to spend with them.
Donna is survived by her husband, Edward Meyer of Breckenridge, MN; her children, Bruce Meyer of Cloquet, MN and his children, Christopher (Monica) Meyer, Shannon (Andrew) Wynn, Noel (Chris) Salo all of Minneapolis, MN and Kasey Meyer of Duluth, MN; Thomas (Carolyn) Meyer of Breckenridge, MN and their children Stephanie (Matt) Pausch, Chad Meyer and Samantha Meyer of Breckenridge, MN; Lori (Robert) Kirkeby of Fargo, ND; Pamela (Craig) Lacher of Cummings, ND and their children Desiree` Lacher and Nicholas Lacher. 6 Great-grandchildren~ Logan, Braydon, Mayson, Mackenah, Parker and Mirabella; her mother, Dorothy Marohl of Breckenridge, MN; her brothers, Roy (Margaret) Marohl of Breckenridge, MN and Charles (Kathy) Marohl of Blaine, MN.
Donna is preceded by her father, Erhardt Marohl; her son, David Alan Meyer (November 24, 1983) and her brother, Duane Marohl.
