Frank Henry Barton, 53 of Breckenridge, MN died on June 28, 2013 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND surrounded by his family. The visitation will be at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge on Tuesday, July 2 from 4:00 to 8:00PM with a memorial service at 7:00.
Frank was born August 8, 1959 to Terry and Rose (Nohl) Schott in Bismarck, ND. He grew up and attended school in Breckenridge. After graduating high school in 1977, he attended NDSCS for business. Upon completing his 2 years of college, he worked for the Ambassador Weiner Co. for a few years. He then began employment at Don's Sportland in Breckenridge, eventually purchasing it and becoming the owner/manager for nearly 20 years. At that point, Frank's status was that of being semi-retired although he was usually available to help with farming and other various jobs. Frank valued the time spent with friends and family. He looked forward to hunting season and camaraderie with friends and his sons Jake and Dustin. Frank loved every moment at the lake where he could fish and spend time with family and friends. He will be truly missed by many, including his dogs Maggie, Molly, Mandy, and Tri-pod.
Frank is survived by his sons Dustin (Becky) Barton of Little Falls, MN, and Jake Barton of Breckenridge, MN; his siblings Sue (Neil) Christensen of Rio Rancho, NM, Rob (Cindy) Barton of Wahpeton, ND, Pam (Terry) Nelson of Doran, MN, Earl (Marianne) Barton of Breckenridge, MN, Steve (Mary) Barton of Cedar Falls, IA; Linda (Mike) Toyne of Amana, IA, Willie (Myrna) Barton of Lake Asbury, FL, and Diane (Alan) Dahnke of Forest Lake, MN.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Rose Schott.
