Gladys Rurup, 85 of Wahpeton, ND died on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, MN. The funeral will be at 1:00PM at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN, on Saturday, January 19 with a visitation one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 to 1:00PM. Pastor Gary Gottfried is officiating. The interment will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
Gladys was born on September 24, 1927 to Russell and Mabel (Gunderson) Fisher at Bowman, ND. In 1940, she moved with her family to Breckenridge, MN and attended Breckenridge High School. Gladys was united in marriage to Ervin Rurup. Gladys was a kind person who always liked visiting with family and friends. She loved music, dancing and bowling. In her later years, Gladys enjoyed riding her three wheel bike, picnics in Chahinkapah Park, and going out to eat.
Gladys is survived by her sons, Donald Rurup of Fargo, ND Larry (Dorene) Rurup of Moorhead, MN, Keith (Vonna) Fisher of Wahpeton, ND; her daughter Susan (Wayne Jr.) Holmquist of Fargo, ND; her 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Kenneth Fisher and David Fisher, her sister Cheryl Bauer and her daughter Donna.
