Glen Heifner

February 5, 1919 — January 20, 2006

Glen E. Heifner, 86, of Breckenridge, MN, died January 20, 2006, at St. Francis Nursing Home,Breckenridge.

His funeral will be held Monday January 23, at 2:00PM at the United Methodist Church, Breckenridge. Pastor Terry Tilton will be officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, from 4:00PM to 7:30 PM with a Prayer Service at 5:00pm at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Rosholt, SD



Glen is survived by: His wife: Bessie of Breckenridge, MN; His two daughters: Sharon (LeRoy) Berens of Duluth, MN; Tami (Gerald) Kallstrom of Breckenridge, MN; His grandchildren: Troy Berens, Tiffany Berens, Jeremy Kallstrom, and Korey Kallstrom; His great-grandchild: Keanna

Glen was born Feb. 5, 1919 to Horace and Phyrne (Shepley) Heifner at Northwood, Iowa. He grew up and attended school there and at the age of 10 he moved with his family to a farm South of Rosholt, SD. He continued his education near Rosholt, then stayed at home to work on the family farm. Glen was united in marriage on June 15, 1941 to Bessie Smith at Hawley, MN. The couple made their home on a farm South of Rosholt until 1958 when they then moved into Rosholt. In 1960 Glen purchased a cement business in Rosholt, Britton, and Sisseton, SD. He operated those businesses until 1970. In 1974 he began working at the Minn-Dak beet plant in Wahpeton, ND.

Glen served as mayor of Rosholt and was one of the board members who started the Nursing Home in Rosholt. Glen and Bessie enjoyed traveling and enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren
