Gregory Andeen, 53, of Breckenridge, MN, died November 20, 2013 at his home in Breckenridge. The funeral service will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Breckenridge Lutheran Church in Breckenridge, MN with Pastor Mark Manning officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00AM, at the church.
Gregory Scott Andeen was born August 25, 1960 in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Lloyd and Judith (Carlson) Andeen. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Breckenridge Lutheran Church. He attended Breckenridge schools, graduating from Breckenridge High School with the Class of 1978. He furthered his education at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND graduating in 1980, with an Associate's Degree in Insurance and Real Estate Management. Greg was united in marriage to Patricia Colleen McIntyre, the "love of his life," on May 3rd, 1986, at Breckenridge Lutheran Church. They have always made their home in Breckenridge.
Greg worked as an insurance salesman for Andeen Agency until it was sold. He then was employed with Century Drill and Tool Company until 2000, at which time he began working at the Wahpeton-Breckenridge Daily News in Wahpeton, ND. He remained at the Daily News until 2002. Due to health reasons, he worked part-time at various jobs, including the City of Breckenridge, Ace Hardware in Wahpeton, ND, and Richland Organics in Breckenridge.
Greg served as a volunteer firefighter for the Breckenridge Fire Department for 11 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many gratifying hours cooking, baking, and smoking meats, and especially enjoyed gardening with his dad, Lloyd. His favorite memories were of times spent on "the ridge" near Argyle, MN.
Greg is survived by his wife Patricia of Breckenridge, MN; his parents, Lloyd and Judy Andeen of Breckenridge, MN; his sister, Cindy (Mike) Abel of Breckenridge, MN; his brothers Jeff (Cindy) Andeen of St. Cloud, MN, and Corey Andeen of Casselton, ND; his nieces and nephews, Krista (Kody) Amann, Ryan Abel, Stacie (Dan) Bellmore; Chase Andeen, Corey and Shawn Heminger; Jordan and Reagan Andeen; his aunt Lois Andeen of Breckenridge, MN; his mother-in-law, Lois Schempp of Breckenridge, MN; his 3 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law; his special friend, Dan Abel; and his god-mother Gayle Smith of St. Paul, MN.
Greg is preceded by his maternal grandparents, Emil and Esther Carlson; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Myrtle Andeen; his father-in-law Roger Schempp; and his brother-in-law, Leland Schempp.
