Helen Bremer, 88, of Breckenridge , MN , formerly of Nashua , MN , died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at St. Francis Home in Breckenridge.



Her funeral service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church in Campbell , MN with Pastor Carl Berner officiating.



Visitation will also be on Friday, January 2, at St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church in Campbell from 9:30 AM to 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery , Nashua , in the spring.



Helen is survived by: Her two daughters, Sharon Braun, Nashua, MN; and Emy Hartwig, North Mankato, MN; Her Daughter-in-law: Peggy Bremer, Moorhead, MN; Her Grandchildren: Tracy (Richard) Noble, Kelly (Michael) Higgins, Robert Braun, Nathan Bremer; Her 5 Great-grandchildren; Her brother: Stanley (Deloris) Severtson, Moorhead, MN; Her sisters: Ruby Patzold, Minneapolis, MN; and Stella (Alvin) Vakoch, Ada, MN.



She was preceded in death by: Her parents: Selmer and Millie Severtson; Her husband: Gilbert Bremer; Her son: Vance Bremer; Her brother: Oren Severtson; and Her son-in-law: Robert Braun



Helen Elizabeth Severtson was born January 11, 1920 to Selmer and Millie (Dale) Severtson near Lake Park , MN . She was baptized and confirmed at Cormorant Lutheran Church and attended country school near her home. She graduated from Lake Park High School . Helen then furthered her education at Moorhead State Teacher’s College and earned a degree in Elementary Education. She taught three years in Wilkin and Norman counties before her marriage to Gilbert Bremer on June 8 th , 1941 at Faith Lutheran Church near Twin Valley , MN . The couple lived all their married life on the Bremer farm near Nashua , MN . After her children were older, Helen taught for twelve more years in Tintah , MN . Gilbert preceded her in death on March 8, 1984. Helen continued living on the farm near Nashua until she became a resident of St. Francis Home in January, 2006.



Helen was an active member of the Ladies Aid and Senior Citizens. Most of her life she was a member of Nashua Lutheran Church , and later she became a member of St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church in Campbell . Helen was a very hospitable and always welcomed neighbors, relatives and friends. She always served lunch to whoever stopped in.
