Herbert Henry Petermann, 66 of Wahpeton, ND passed away at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN on October 31, 2011. The visitation is at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Breckenridge, Thursday, November 3 from 5-8 pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The funeral is at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday November 4 at 10:30 am. Pastor Gordon Lee is officiating. Interment is at Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Dwight, ND
Herbert "Herb" Petermann was born on May 16, 1945 to Henry and Louise (Thoennes) Petermann in Wheaton, MN. He grew up and attended school in Tintah, MN. After school, Herbert worked for local farmers. For the past 35 years he had been a dedicated employee for the Ivan, Casey and Jon Miller Farms. On January 7, 1978, Herbert was united in marriage to Beverly Ehrens at the Breckenridge Lutheran Church. The couple resided in Breckenridge, then Oregon. The last 26 years they made their home on a farm in rural Wahpeton, ND. Herbert was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight, ND
Herbert is survived by his daughter, Diana (Steven) Cade Rerucha, Arkansas; his son, Loren (Lisa) Cade, Breckenridge, MN; his four grandchildren, Shaun (Christy) Cross and their children, Vanessa and Bryson, Arkansas, Robert Cade, Colorado Springs, CO, Harry Cade, Wahpeton, ND, Jeana (Cam) Smart, and their children, Jack and William, Fargo, ND; his three step-grandchildren Amanda, Felicia, and Kristina; one step great-grandchild, Harmony. His siblings Mary (Duane) Wellnitz of Elbow Lake, MN; Loretta (Ken) Schmaltz of Fergus Falls, MN; James Petermann of Breckenridge, MN; Patricia (Glen) Kruize of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Leon (Vicki) Petermann of Sacramento, CA; Frances (Paul) Jennen of Elbow Lake, MN; Robert (Cheryl) Petermann of Elk River, MN; David (Joyce) Petermann of Sioux Falls, SD; Maureen (James) Wichael of Wahpeton, ND; Henry (Marcia) Petermann of Tintah, MN; his sister-in-law Dorothy Petermann of Detroit Lakes, MN; his brother-in-law Lawrence Lehman of Tintah, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Herbert is preceded in death by his wife Beverley, his parents Henry and Louise; his sisters Ramona Lehman, Barbara Fink and Theresa Wellnitz; his brothers John and Stan; his niece Lori Wellnitz; and his nephews Frankie Fink III, Glen Kruize, Jr., Adam Petermann and Billy Morgan.
