Ilo A. Stargel, 94, Puyallup, WA, died May 27, 2005 at Linden Grove Health Care Center, Puyallup, WA. Her funeral will be held Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 2:00pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Campbell, MN. Officiating: Pastor Carl Berner. The visitation will be held Wednesday June 1, 2005, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Campbell, Minnesota.
Ilo is survived by: Her 4 daughters: DeVonne Bronson, Puyallup, WA; Marceen (Bernard) Loeks, Campbell, MN; Virginia (John) Cunningham, Tacoma, WA;Gail (Thomas) Schmitt, Tacoma, WA; Her daughter-in-law: Gladys Stargel, Tacoma, WA; Her son: Dean, Tacoma, WA; Her 17 grandchildren; Her 24 Great-grandchildren; Her 12 Great-great grandchildren
She was preceded by: Her parents: Adolph and Ella Abraham; Her husband: Mearl Stargel; Her son: Veldon Stargel (11-22-2000); Her 2 brothers and 1 sister
Ilo was born June 8, 1910, the daughter of Adolf F. and Ella S. L. (Marquardt) Abraham in International Falls, Minnesota. Ilo was united in marriage to Mearl Stargel on October 30, 1927 at Graceville, Minnesota. In 1934, they moved to a farm south of Breckenridge, MN and in 1975 they moved into Doran, MN. Mearl farmed and worked as a carpenter. Ilo worked as a homemaker, and at Mohn's Bakery and St. Francis Home in Breckenridge. Mearl preceded her in death on August 22, 1984. Ilo continued living in Doran until she moved to Tacoma, WA, to live with her son, Dean. In 2003, she went to live at Linden Grove Health Care Center in Pauyallup, WA. She appreciated all the staff that helped her there; she resided there until she passed away.
Ilo was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid, Campbell, MN; and Good Shepherd Church in Tacoma, WA. She was a former member of the Campbell Homemakers. Ilo enjoyed barbeques with family and friends, and going to the ocean and camping there.
