Visitation is Monday, September 5, 2011 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.The Funeral is Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Breckenridge Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Manning officiating. Interment is at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton, ND
Inez was born on August 6, 1913 to John and Marie (Simonson) Arlien on the home farm near Pekin, ND. She was united in marriage to Olaf Snortland on June 12, 1937 at Lakota, ND. They made their home in Breckenridge, MN since the late 1930's.
Over the years, Inez worked at the Stratford Hotel Café, the Nash Nursing Home and the Breck Senior Center. In her later years she was a RSVP volunteer at the Breck Senior Center.
Inez is survived by her two sons John Snortland, Breckenridge, MN; Donald Snortland, Fargo, ND; her two grandchildren Kelly (Darren) Swenson, Madison, SD and their children, Samantha, Sydney, and Daniel; Kristen (Cory) Baloun, Redfield, SD and their children, Jake, Cooper, and Max; her special friend Dr. Michelle Von Rueden, Fargo, ND
Inez was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Olaf Snortland in 1973; her daughter Karen Becker in 1988; her son-in-law John Becker; her seven sisters and three brothers.
