James Phillip Boll, 77 of Breckenridge, MN passed away March 1, 2011 at the Broen Memorial Home, Fergus Falls, MN. The visitation is Friday, March 4 from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. The funeral is Saturday March 5, 2010 at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Breckenridge, MN with Father Stan Wieser officiating. The interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge at a later date.
James Boll was born on March 24, 1933 in Breckenridge, MN to Philip and Margaret (Geister) Boll. He grew up in Breckenridge and attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School, graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1951. He then went on to the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. From 1953-1955 Jim was in the U.S. Army stationed in Orleans, France with a "Transportation Regulating Group" during the Korean War. After his discharge he continued his education at the Unitversity of St. Thomas.

Jim began working for the U.S. Postal Service in 1957 in Breckenridge. In 1982, he went to Campbell, Minnesota as the Postmaster. He worked there until 1988 when he retired from the Postal Service. Jim married Ruth Halberg April 24, 1976 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge and they made their home in Campbell and later in Breckenridge. Ruth preceded him on September 23, 2002. Jim continued to live in Breckenridge.
Jim was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. in Breckenridge, the Eagles in Wahpeton, Campbell Lion's Club, and St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and spending time with his family and friends.
James is survived by his daughter Roxann (Richard) Bergstrom of Grove City, MN; his granddaughters Molly (Jon) Berg and Greta (Corey) Kluver and their children Hayley and Ruby; his sister Ruth Mortenson of Breckenridge, MN; his special friend Betty Edenborg of Breckenridge, MN; his godchildren Rick Anderson and Andrew Casey; several nieces and nephews.
James is preceded by his wife Ruth Boll (2002); his parents Philip and Margaret Boll; his sisters Mary Margaret (in infancy) and Frances Antrim; his brothers Theodore and Philip
