James Arthur "Beetle" Krump, 67, of Barney, North Dakota, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Fargo at Sanford Medical Center after battling cancer. James was born on November 9, 1958, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, to Art and Bernice (Braun) Krump. James lived a life marked by dedication to his family, hard work, and a love for the simple joys that brought him happiness.
His Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11 AM, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. Visitation will take place one hour prior.
James was the beloved husband of Jeanette Krump and a devoted father to his daughter, Jennifer (John) Walter, and son, Chad (Samantha) Krump. He also shared a special bond with his stepsons, Taylor, Sean, and Wyatt. James was predeceased by his father, Art Krump, and his brother Barry Krump.
Known affectionately as "Beetle," James had a passion for life that shone through in everything he did. He found joy in demo derbies and loved the thrill of riding snowmobiles, motorcycles, and ranger rides. His adventurous spirit was balanced by quieter moments spent at the casino in Hankinson or watching old westerns when football or NASCAR races weren’t on. James also took great pride in maintaining his lawn, always ensuring it was perfectly mowed and cared for.
A man of unwavering work ethic and generosity, James was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness and willingness to assist others left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
James is survived by his mother, Bernice Krump of Breckenridge, MN; wife, Jeanette Krump; son, Chad (Samantha) Krump; daughter, Jennifer (John) Walter; three stepsons, Sean (Jessy) Johnson, Taylor (Chelsea) Johnson, and Wyatt Johnson; eleven grandchildren, and 5 great- grandchildren. Brothers, Cook (Shelly) Krump, and Dike (Janelle) Krump; sisters, Rhonda (Darrin) Gorden and Con (Dag) Solien; sister-in-law, Onnalee Krump; ex-wife, Deborah (Reiff) Krump, and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
James will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his loss.
