Joyce Lavonne Paur, 70 of Wahpeton, ND died in the Palliative Care Unit at Sanford South, Fargo, ND. The funeral service is 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton with Pastor James Gustafson officiating. There is no visitation. The interment is at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Wahpeton.
Joyce was born January 25th, 1942 in Sisseton, SD to Harry and Viola (Schultz) Hanson of Rosholt, SD. She grew up on the family farm north of Rosholt and attended the Rosholt Public School system. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethania Lutheran Church, Rosholt. On August 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to George Paur in Rosholt, SD. She and George made their home in Wahpeton, ND. This union produced three children, a son, Steven and two daughters, Paulette and Susan.
Throughout her life, Joyce worked various jobs at the Leach Home, Wahpeton Public Schools, 3M, Servicemaster and most recently Mitskog Chiropractic. Joyce enjoyed growing flowers, embroidery, bingo, and playing cards. She treasured her friendships nurtured at the Wahpeton Senior Citizen Center.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years George; her son Steven Paur, of Wahpeton, ND; two daughters, Paulette Bingham of Grand Forks, ND and Susan Johnson of Sauk Rapids, MN; her grandson, Nick Edner of Sauk Rapids, MN; her granddaughter Katie Grammer of Buckingham, VA; two great- granddaughters, Tiyahna and Isis Grammer and her great-grandson, Immanuel Grammer all of Buckingham, VA; her sister, Janice Ringsaker, Rosholt, SD and two brothers, Curtis Hanson, Mankato, MN and Harlan Hanson, Rosholt, SD as well as several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Viola Hanson, and two brothers, Kenneth Hanson and Delmer Hanson.
