Justin Krause

Justin J. Krause, 29, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away at his home, on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2021, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2021, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, allowing time for sharing with family and friends. Reverend Ross Fritz will be officiating the service. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home.

Justin was born on April 23, 1992, in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Cheryl Ziegelmann and the late Arnold Krause. He was raised in Breckenridge and attended a local school. During his youth, Justin excelled in sports. He was a star wrestler and Cross-Country runner. He was one of the few family members that found joy in running so many miles at a time.

Justin enjoyed many outdoor activities; especially, fishing, camping, occasionally tagging along on hunting trips, and ice fishing with his brother, Jordan. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan and never missed a game. He often went along with his brothers to various sporting events and tailgating.

The thing that meant the most to Justin was family. His pride and joy was his son, Jon. Justin had a very warming heart and always had a way of making everyone feel cherished. Justin’s friends while growing up were always his closest family, his brothers, and cousins. You could always find them hanging out upstairs, in the loft, above the garage. If you were to ask anyone who Justin was to them, they would always reply “He was my best friend.”  He will be truly missed by all those who knew him.

Justin is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cheryl and Steve Ziegelmann; his son, Jonathan Krause; brother, Jason (Julie, Christian, Gavin) and his daughter, Aubree Krause; brother, Jordan (Jennie) and their son, Walter Krause; maternal grandmother, Mary Loll; stepsiblings, Christopher, Aaron, Jessica, and Nicole Ziegelmann; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Justin is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Krause; brother, Jonathan Krause; half-sister, Amanda Krause; maternal grandfather, Duane Loll; and paternal grandparents, Melvin and Corinne Krause.
