Karen Catherine Dohman was born on September 5, 1937, in Hankinson, ND, to Adolph and Marquerite (Doyle) Erb. She passed away on November 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love.
Karen worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell. On February 3, 1959, she married Roy at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton. Together, they raised a loving family and became an integral part of their community.
A committed member of St. Mary's Church and the Christian Mothers, Karen was also involved with the Breckenridge American Legion Auxiliary Post, contributing her time and efforts to support those in need.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; her children: Diane Poppen, Denise (David) Blackwelder, Steve (Jolyn) Dohman, and Gary (Karen) Dohman; her grandchildren: Michael (Kaley) Poppen, John Poppen, Amy Blackwelder, Adam (Valerie) Blackwelder, Emily (Mitch) Vanden Berge, Chad (Alexis) Blackwelder, Amanda (Levi) Nyland, Andrew Dohman, Annie Dohman, Ryan Dohman, Bradyn (Jaime) Dohman, Rachel Dohman, Nathan Dohman, Hannah Dohman; and her eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, James (Elaine) Erb and Robert Erb.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Marquerite Erb; her son-in-law, Dale Poppen; her sister and brother-in-law Mary (Duane) Loll; and her brother, Richard Erb.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge, Minnesota, on November 28, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Leo Moenkedick will officiate the service.
Karen Catherine Dohman will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering faith, and her commitment to her family and community. Her life was a blessing, and she will be deeply missed.
