Karol Ross

January 10, 1954 — March 7, 2017

Karol Ruth Ross, of Tintah, MN, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at CHI St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN. The funeral will be at 1:00 PM, on Monday, March 13, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Karol was born in Breckenridge on January 10, 1954, one of three children born to Clinton and Ruth (Johnson) Ross. She attended school in Tintah graduating in 1972 as part of the last class to graduate from Tintah High School. Following high school, Karol found employment in Fergus Falls at Rosenblatt's and then at the Fergus Falls Livestock Auction. Pursing her love for horses, she moved to Louisiana, to work with quarter horse race horses. After a short while, Karol moved back to Minnesota to take care of her parents. She fearlessly built her business, Ross Quarter Horses, where she specialized in the showing and breeding of quarter horses for over 20 years.
Karol had a way with words so people knew where they stood with her. She loved the farm and the simple things in life; the smell of fresh cut hay, her dogs, and especially the dearly held relationships with her nieces and nephews.
Karol will be missed by her brother, Neil (Susan) Ross, of Northfield, MN; her sister, Phyllis (Lloyd) Zuther of Grandin, ND; her nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Greg) Norton, Shawna Zuther, Samantha (Ashton) Lemoine, Shaun Zuther, Shane Zuther, Shayla Zuther, Michael (special Friend, Chris) Larson, Kyle (fiancé, Heidi) Ross, Jayme (fiancé, Samantha) Ross; Lindsay Heifort, Sierra Heifort, Tanner Heifort, Keegan Heifort, Logan Heifort, and Gavin Heifort; her special friend and former business partner, Linda Heifort. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Ruth.
