Lillian Leshovsky

Lillian Leshovsky, 89 of Breckenridge, MN passed away on January 15, 2011 at St. Francis Nursing Home. The funeral is on Thursday, January 20 at 11:00 am at United Church of Christ, Wahpeton, ND with Pastor Ken Adams officiating. The visitation is on Wednesday, January 19 from 5 pm to 7 pm with the prayer service at 6 pm at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. The interment is at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND. The pallbearers are Chester Leshovsky, Albert Romereim, Troy Thimjon, Larry Leshovsky, Rod Romereim, and Jay Thimjon.
Lillian Elsie Leshovsky was born February 18, 1921 to August and Elsie (Glander) Wegener. She attended Wahpeton schools, graduating in 1939. Lillian was married to Robert Leshovsky on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1942. She worked at the Wahpeton Rosemead Pottery Plant. They moved to a farm near Christine, ND in 1956, then purchased and moved to a farm near Doran, MN where they resided until 1983. At that time they moved to Breckenridge, MN. Bob preceded Lillian in death in 1996. Lil moved to her home near her daughter in 1997 where she had been living since.
Lillian was a member of Harmony Homemakers, Spinning Tops Square Dancing, Wahpeton and Breckenridge Senior Citizens Centers and a life-long member of the United Church of Christ. Lil enjoyed going to the casino and always looked forward to playing cards with her friends. Lil's family was her greatest joy in life and she passed on her love of card playing on to her great-grandchildren, Caitie and Nick. She and Bob spent winters in Arizona and in the summer enjoyed being at their lake home on Ottertail Lake.
Lillian is survived by her daughter Sandy (Jim) Olson of Breckenridge, MN; her grandchildren, Chad (Jodi) Olson of Sioux Falls, SD and Chantel Olson (Larry Larson) of Sioux Falls, SD; her great- grandchildren, Caitlin Jo Olson and Nicholas Alan Olson; her sister, Elaine Brannen of San Diego, CA and many nieces and nephews.
Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (1996); her parents, August and Elsie Wegener; her brothers, Henry, Bill, and Alex Wegener; her sisters, Mildred Tipton, Dorothy Nelson and Alice Terhurne.
