Lois Catherine Broesder, 85 of Breckenridge, MN died at St. Francis Nursing Home, Breckenridge, on Friday, December 07, 2012. The funeral service will be at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, on Tuesday, December 11 at 11:00AM with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Wendel Kelm will be officiating. The interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nashua, MN.
Lois was born on September 9, 1927 in Fergus Falls, MN to Vernon and Esther (Thurneau) Borowski. She grew up on a farm near Nashua, MN and attended school in Campbell, MN. After high school, Lois worked at several businesses in the Wahpeton/Breckenridge area. She was united in marriage to Maynard Broesder on March 9, 1947 in Fergus Falls, MN. They farmed in the area, and then started M & M Construction. They resided in Nashua and Lois kept the books for the business from her home office. They retired in the early 80's. Maynard preceded Lois in death in 1983.
Lois continued to live in Nashua until entering St. Francis Nursing Home.
Wanting to stay busy, Lois had many hobbies. She enjoyed stamp collecting, gardening, puzzles, crafting, bingo and card playing. She loved animals especially her cats.
Lois is survived by her 2 daughters, Susan (Gary) Voss of Byron, Illinois and Cathy (Lance) Lundquist of Wheaton, MN; her 3 grandchildren, Dana (Ashley Groves) Voss, Benjamin Lundquist and Sarah Lundquist; one great-grandchild, Tristan Voss ; her twin sister Leatrice (Jerry) Darrah of Gresham, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Esther, her husband Maynard, and her grandson Michael Voss.
