Lois Nordick

Lois Nordick, 75, Breckenridge , MN , passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge , MN . Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Breckenridge , MN with Pastor Terry Tilton officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery , Breckenridge , MN .

Lois was born on August 31, 1933 in Lisbon , ND to Leo and Pearl (Liebing) Kiefert. She grew up and attended school in Lisbon . She then moved to Menagha , MN and worked as a housekeeper for an elderly couple and also worked as a farm laborer. She later worked at a restaurant in Menagha. Lois later moved to a farm near Breckenridge where she was a housekeeper for her future husband’s parents.

Lois married Edward Nordick on April 19, 1969 at Breckenridge. They made their home on the family farm near Breckenridge until 1972 when they moved into Breckenridge. Ed preceded her in death on February 1, 1997. She continued to live in Breckenridge after Ed’s death.

Most importantly, Lois was a devoted mother to her two special daughters. Lois liked going out for lunch and visiting with family and friends, gardening, and canning vegetables along with attending the annual Kiefert/Liebing family picnics.

Lois is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Nordick, Fergus Falls, MN; Vicki Nordick, Breckenridge, MN; her three sisters, Florence Buth, Fergus Falls, MN, Claris (Richard) Kron, Grasston, MN, Verla (Raymond) Putnam, Menagha, MN; her six brothers, Harold (Ellen) Kiefert, Valley City, ND, Orlin Kiefert, Menagha, MN, Arnold Kiefert, Warrensburg, MO, Myron (Shirley) Kiefert, Menagha, MN, Ned Kiefert, Benson, MN, Marlin (Liz) Kiefert, Waconia, MN

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Pearl Kiefert; her husband, Edward Nordick; her brother in infancy, Fred Kiefert.
