Louise Taplin

May 6, 1934 — June 30, 2014

Louise Ann Taplin, 80, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at St. Francis Nursing Home in Breckenridge, MN. The visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00am at the St. Francis Nursing Home Chapel, on Thursday, July 3, 2014. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10:00. Father Joe Backowski will be the celebrant. The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
Louise was born May 6, 1934, to Frank and Mary (Reno) Taplin in Fargo, ND. With fortitude and faith, Louise lived life to the fullest despite having Cerebral Palsy. Her formal education was through the tutoring of Sister Margaret Mary Murphy. On September 19, 1960, Louise took her Perpetual Vows as a lay Sister in Lay Order of Dominican's. Her mother passed away in early 1980's, but Louise continued to live in Fargo with her father until his health failed. She then moved to St. Francis Nursing Home, a place she called home for 30 years. Living at St. Francis provided Louise with the strong Catholic influences that she treasured so dearly.
Louise loved to laugh. She enjoyed the friendly banter between her and her caregivers and she would often interject her favorite sayings of "Go fly a kite" or "Go climb a tree!" Louise loved cats. She looked forward to watching ETWN and attending Catholic services. The bible was precious to her as was studying about her Catholic faith and all the saints.
Louise is survived by her special friend, Lucille Krump of Breckenridge, MN, and the caregivers at St. Francis Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Taplin.
