LuJean Darlene Bladow, 81 of Breckenridge, MN died on Monday, October 1, 2012 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Breckenridge. The visitation will be at Joseph Vertin & Sons funeral Home, Breckenridge, on Friday, October 5 from 4 to 7:00PM. The funeral will be at Grace Lutheran Church, Breckenridge on Saturday, October 6 at 11:00AM with a visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Pastor Ryan Drevlow is officiating. The interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton, ND.
LuJean was born on July 5, 1931 near Rothsay, MN, the only child of Frank and Mabel (Harvego) Dietz. She grew up and attended country school and Rothsay High School. She worked at St. Francis Nursing Home and also at Nash Home as a nurse's aide. On May 25, 1954, LuJean was united in marriage to Maurice Bladow at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton. They made their home in Wahpeton and Hankinson, ND until moving to Breckenridge in 1968. She entered St. Francis Nursing Home on April 27, 2012.
LuJean was a devoted caregiver to both her parents when their health failed. She took much pleasure in gardening and loved to be with her dogs. She enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church and active in the Alter Guild. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a favorite charity.
LuJean is survived by her husband of 58 years, Maurice Bladow; her son Darwin (Kim) Bladow of rural Doran and their children, Kelly, Justin and Nicholas.
She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mabel Dietz.
