LuVerne Andel was born on November 18, 1925, one of 3 children born to Fred and Inga (Bjerkebek) Andel in Wahpeton, ND. She grew up on a farm east of Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1945. Following high school, LuVerne remained on the family farm to help out her mom and dad. On November 23, 1984, LuVerne was united in marriage to Harold Frigen at Breckenridge Lutheran Church. They made their home in Breckenridge but spent many winters in Texas. In 2012, she moved into Twin Town Villa in Breckenridge.
A farm girl at heart, LuVerne looked forward to watching the field activities each season. She treasured her winters in Texas and loved to pass the time by crocheting, embroidering, and various crafting projects. She was an avid MN Twins fan, and in her younger years, enjoyed dancing. She was a long time member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church and Wahpeton Eagles Auxiliary.
LuVerne is survived by her sister, Betty LeNoue of Breckenridge, MN; her 4 nieces, Cindi (Dick) Knipfer of Gilbert, MN, Connie (Dan) Klug of West Fargo, ND, Echo (Steve) Santos of Fall Creek, WI, and Heidi Arnhalt of Breckenridge; 1 nephew, Barry (Sue) LeNoue of Breckenridge; many great nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Rosalie Andel of Jolliet, IL.
