Marie Beltz

Marie Beltz, 78, of Breckenridge, MN, died September 2, 2009 at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, ND.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 8, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Breckenridge , MN , with Father Kenneth Popp officiating.



Visitation will be Monday, September 7, from 5 pm – 7 pm with a Prayer Service at 7 pm at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge , MN . There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.



Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery , Breckenridge , MN .

Pallbearers will be Scott Gefre, Heidi Jensen, Brian Gefre, Lori Gefre, Manda Roberson, and Al Roberson.

Marie was born in Lidgerwood , ND to Otto and Elizabeth (Factor) Loessin on June 14, 1931. She was raised and attended school in Lidgerwood and after her schooling she worked at Kelly’s Diner in Wahpeton, ND.

She married Leonard Beltz on August 5, 1950 in Breckenridge , MN where they made their home. Marie did the bookkeeping for Leonard’s plumbing business in the Breckenridge-Wahpeton area. Leonard preceded her in death on November 19, 1998 and she continued to live in Breckenridge.

Marie enjoyed gardening, flowers, needle point, and following any Breckenridge Cowboys and Cowgirls sporting events. She truly enjoyed her dog, Princess.

She is survived by: Her two sons: Michael (Jill) Beltz, Breckenridge, MN; and Kenneth Beltz, Breckenridge, MN; Her son-in-law: John Weber, Breckenridge, MN; Her three grandchildren: Scott Gefre, Brian (Lori) Gefre, Manda (Al) Roberson, Jeremy (Julie) Busching, Joel Busching; Her six great-grandchildren: Jaden Scott Hanson, Hayley Gefre, Ethan Gefre, Aliana Roberson, Alijah Roberson, Dylan Busching; Her two sisters: Cora (Ulrich) Lovdokken, Wahpeton, ND; Eilleen Rich, Yorba Linda, CA; Her two brothers: Daniel (Janice) Loessin, Verndale, WA; William Loessin, Long Beach, CA; Her half-sister: Rosellen (Paul) Ruscomi, Maryland.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents: Otto and Elizabeth Loessin; her husband: Leonard Beltz; Her daughter: Gail Weber; Her half-sister: Beverly Lou Nelson.
