Marjorie Elaine Ehlers

Marjorie Elaine (Dighton) Ehlers, age 96, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at St. Francis Home in Breckenridge. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Breckenridge Lutheran Church in Breckenridge. Rene Hasbargen will be officiating the service. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.

Marjorie was born on July 18, 1929, in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of William and Clara (Lentz) Dighton. She attended local schools and, later, went on to work at LeNoue Bros Grocery in Kent, MN, until she married Clayton Dohman on November 21, 1948, at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Breckenridge. Four children were born from this marriage, Michael, Cathy, Cindy, and Mark. Clayton passed away in 1969.

After Clayton’s death, Marge and her children moved into Breckenridge where she began working at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge.

She married Allan Ehlers on July 8, 1971, at Breckenridge Lutheran Church and they made their home at Barney, ND. In 2006, Allan and Marge moved into York Manor in Breckenridge. In 2009, Allan passed away. She moved into St. Francis Nursing Home in November 2023.

Marge will always be remembered for her kind heart, gardening, and baked goodies, especially the donuts, she gave so freely. Above all, her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her love for her kids, and animals brought her immense joy.

Marjorie is survived by her four children, Michael (Pam) Dohman; Cathy (Gerald) Nordick; Cindy (Joseph) Braun; and Mark (Mary) Dohman and all their families; 7 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clayton Dohman and Allan Ehlers; Mother, Clara; father, William; step-father, Cyril Barringer; brother, Robert Dighton; two sisters-in-laws; and one great-grandson.
