Marlyce Carlsrud, 91, of Breckenridge, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Marlyce’s honor on Friday, April 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Breckenridge. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Leo Moenkedick will officiate.
Marlyce Joann Lennartz was born on November 24, 1934, to Charles and Margaret (Tehle) Lennartz. She spent her early years in Brushvale before moving with her family to Breckenridge, where she later graduated from Breckenridge High School. She began her career working for Wilkin County.
On July 27, 1957, Marlyce was united in marriage to Stanley Carlsrud. Together, they built a life in Breckenridge, where Marlyce later worked as a bookkeeper for Breck Transfer alongside her husband. In her later years, she worked at a group home with Red River Human Services, where she compassionately cared for others.
Marlyce was a devoted and active mother who took great joy in participating in her children’s activities. She was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Breckenridge and was involved in the church circle group. She also enjoyed time spent with the Red Hat Society. In her younger years, Marlyce bowled in a local league and stayed busy helping her mother with the family flower business.
Marlyce will be remembered for her caring and generous spirit. She never turned down an opportunity to help family and friends and took great pride in caring for her home and those she loved.
She is survived by her children: Ordean Carlsrud; Dennis Carlsrud; Lisa (Joseph Kneser) Rugenstein; Nancy Geesey; Linda (Kirk) Loewen; and Sherry (Stacy Atkinson) Carlsrud; her grandchildren: Ross (Hallie) Geesey, Katelyn (Nathan) Heisler, Kalvin Loewen, and Kirstan (fiancé Landon Buehre) Loewen; her great-grandchildren, Kenlee and Kree; sister-in-law, Delaine Hendricksen and numerus nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley Carlsrud; Parents: Charles Lennartz; Margaret Tehle; Step-Father: Alvin Tehle; her infant daughter: Janeen Carlsrud; son-in-law: Kenny Geesey; and brother-in-law: Ron Hendricksen.
