Orville Hansen

Orville John Hansen, 86 Wahpeton, ND died at St. Catherine’s Living Center April 29, 2010, Wahpeton, ND. The funeral was held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 am Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. Officiating the service was Pastor Ryan Drevlow. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery, Campbell, MN.

Orville was born January 19, 1924, the first son of John and Frieda (Degner) Hansen, Doran, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Campbell, Minnesota. He graduated from the eighth grade at a country school near Doran. On February 3, 1961 Orville, was united in marriage to Dorothy Peterson. He farmed for a few years on his own but he spent a majority of his adult life working for area farmers. Dorothy preceded him in 1993.

Orville took pleasure in pheasant hunting and was enticed by farm activity. He delighted in family gatherings and the camaraderie with his brothers and sister.

Orville is survived by     brothers, Don (Bernice) Hansen, Breckenridge, MN; Robert Hansen, Campbell, MN; David (Lorna), Lidgerwood, ND; sister, Marion Unger, Fergus Falls, MN; sister-in-law, Florence Hansen, Doran, MN. Orville was preceded by his wife, Dorothy Hansen; parents, John and Frieda Hansen; brother, Henry Hansen.
