Renee Braun

Renee ‘Raven Skye’ Braun of Breckenridge, MN died at St. Francis Health Care Campus on August 8, 2010. The funeral will be Saturday, August 28 at 2:00 pm at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge with Pastor Sam MacKay officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wahpeton, ND.

Renee Braun was born to Evans and Wyona (Martin) Braun on July 17, 1951. She grew up and attended school in Wahpeton, ND, graduating in 1969. She was united in marriage to Alvin Dexter on July 17, 1970. They made their home in Breckenridge, later on moving to Finley, ND. Renee moved to the Fargo/Moorhead area and worked at Sunmart in the bakery department as a cake decorator. While living there, she devoted much of her spare time working with troubled teens, helping to turn their lives around. She moved back to the Wahpeton/Breckenridge area and worked at the group homes as a home aide.

In her leisure time, Renee loved to attend flea markets and go to rummage sales. She was also a tarot card reader and a palm reader. She loved animals and acquired a wide assortment of pets over the years. Even with her many health problems, Renee kept a positive attitude. She always said that she is survived by her large family of friends and her spiritual group, Children of the Light.

Renee is preceded by her parents, James Evans and Wyona Braun; her daughter at birth, LaTonya Dexter; and her brother, Gary Braun.
