Dick was born on August 22, 1935, to Anthony and Helen (Nordick) Conzemius in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up on the family farm east of Breckenridge with his younger siblings: Karen, Jim, Jerry, Diane, Linda, and Tom. Dick attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1953. Dick joined the United States Marine Corps and took great pride in being a Crew Chief and Helicopter Mechanic. Following his discharge, he worked as a Construction Forman on a crew working in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Alaska.

Upon his return from Alaska in 1964, he began working for Standard Oil Company as their fuel oil driver. 11 years later, he purchased the local territory and assets from Standard Oil, which was the beginning of Conzemius Oil. Through the years, he continued to expand the business, allowing him to support and generously give back to the community in which he lived.

Dick married the love of his life, Rose Mary Kaczynski in 1967. The couple began working side by side while raising their four children. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, serving on several boards, and a volunteer fireman with the Breckenridge Fire Department.

In his spare time Dick enjoyed flying airplanes, shooting skeet, numerous fishing trips with friends, family camping excursions, wintering in Florida, and most importantly, riding his Harley with his friends.

Dick will be fondly remembered for his giving heart, his booming voice, and the imparting nicknames he gave to people.

Dick is survived by his children; Carla Bock; Mitchell (McKenzie) Conzemius, and Jolinda (Michael Surma) Conzemius; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Conzemius; grandchildren, Samantha (Nicholas) Reitz; Sophia (Greyson) Christian; Mary, Claire, Grace, and Anthony Conzemius; Carter and Chloe Conzemius; and Isaac Surma; siblings, Jim (Chris) Conzemius, Diane (Mike) Abeln, Linda Snyder, and Tom (Jane) Conzemius; brother-in-law, Jim Arntson, and many nieces and nephews.
