Robert Joseph Terfehr, 86, of Breckenridge, MN passed away peacefully on May 18, 2012. The visitation is at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge on Tues. May 22 from 5 to 8 pm with a rosary at 6:30 and prayer service at 7. The funeral is at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge on Wednesday May 23 at 10:30 am. Father Kenneth Popp is officiating. The interment is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Breckenridge.
Robert was born July 10, 1925 to Joseph and Leona (Holecek) Terfehr, Nordick Township, Wilkin County, MN. He attended rural Breckenridge country school. After completing his schooling, he worked on the family farm. Robert was united in marriage to Anastasia Miranowski on September 28, 1948 in Brushvale, MN. They established their farm near Brushvale which included dairy and agriculture. Through hard work and dedication they successfully ran the farm and lovingly raised their five children. Shortly after retiring from farming in 1987, they moved into Breckenridge. Anastasia preceded Robert in death on November 6, 2005. Robert continued to live in Breckenridge. He enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee, going out to the family farm to help out, and spending time with family. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic order of Foresters, and served on parish council.
Robert is survived by his children Gloria (Ray) Kasel of Clintonville, WI and their children Philip Kasel, Matthew (Robin) Kasel and son Payton; Ted (Marlene) Terfehr of rural Breckenridge, MN and their children Lee (Laurie) Dow of Sabin, MN and their children Shani and her son Jackson, Jamie, Jacquelyn, Karlee, Zane, and Brooklyn; Mitch (Amber) Dow of Silver Bay, MN and their children Tara, Brandan, Hunter and Chase; Rick (Audrey) Terfehr of rural Breckenridge, MN and their children Nicholas (Shelley), David, and John; Terry (Sharon) Terfehr of Breckenridge, MN and their children Elizabeth (fiancé Todd Kuelbs) and Joe; Larry (Beth) Terfehr of rural Breckenridge, MN.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife Anastasia (2005); his granddaughter Crystal Terfehr; his parents Joseph and Leona; his sisters Ethlin and Mildred in infancy.
