Rosalyn “Rosie” Margaret Dupree was born on December 17, 1936, the oldest of 11 children born to Leonard and Eleanor (Bouressa) Treinen. She grew up in Morris, MN, and following the tragic passing of her mother when Rosie was 16, she then helped raise her siblings.
In January of 1955, Rosie married Charles Dupree and to this union, eight children were born.
Rosie enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. One of her favorite stories to tell was throwing a no-hitter in her long softball career. Other hobbies included gardening, sewing, camping, canoeing, square dancing, snowmobiling, deer hunting, and playing cards.
In 2002, Rosie moved to Idaho and started the next chapter in life. During her time there, she attended over 100 concerts of every genre, a tough record to beat. Her new interests became more extreme; rafting, 4 wheeling, skydiving, parasailing, motorcycle rides, cruises, a tattoo, going to rodeos, sister trips, trips with grandkids, and (of course), playing more cards.
In 2011, Rosie achieved her goal of visiting all 50 states. In 2022, Rosie returned to this area to be closer to family. Upon returning, she found a new ‘home’ and was welcomed into a family of new friends - and (of course), continued playing cards. Rosie’s last game of cards was played on June 12, 2025 – and (of course), she won.
Rosie is survived by her children, Lori (Bill) Hill, Mike Dupree, Katie (Tim) Van Tassel, Marty Dupree, Lance Dupree, Jared Dupree, Lisa (Spencer) Christianson; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Joanne Erickson, Donnie (Denise) Treinen, Nick (Joanne) Treinen, Mary Bongers, Lynda (Barry) Stewart, Sandy (Dean) Mohs, and Lenny (Carol) Treinen.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Chuck; daughter-in-law, Pat Dupree; grandson, Chase Christianson; great-granddaughter, Kieryn Adams; and her siblings, Skip Treinen, Bill Treinen, and Jack Treinen.
