Russell Selby

Russell Selby , 79 of Rural Kent, MN passed away peacefully in his home on September 9, 2010. The funeral is Monday, September 13, 2010 at 1:00 pm. at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, MN. Pastor Mark Manning will be officiating. The visitation is also on Monday, September 13 from 11:00 am. until the start of the funeral at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home. Interment is at   Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN.

Russell was born in Wahpeton, ND on May 3, 1931 as the only child to Glenn and Palma (Jensen) Selby. He grew up on a farm near Kent, MN and attended country school near the home farm. He was united in marriage to Rose Mary Hermeling on June 13, 1960 in Breckenridge, MN. Together they made their home and raised their son and daughter on the Selby family farm where Russell carried on the tradition of farming. He had taught himself to repair televisions which turned into a side business. Russell retired from farming in 1978 but continued his work on televisions.

Russell enjoyed visiting with friends, excursions to Dakota Magic and tinkering on projects on the farm.

Russell is survived by his wife Rose Selby of Rural Kent, MN; his son Dale, Sr. of Kent, MN; his daughter, Deborah (Art) Reyes of Omaha, NE; 6 grandchildren, Dale Selby, Jr.; Rakay, Devon, Cameron, Korina, and Desiree Reyes. Russell is preceded by his parents, Glenn and Palma (Jensen) Selby.
