Sharon Larson

Sharon Larson, age 75, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Bethany Nursing Home in Fargo, ND. Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 12 p.m., at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.

Sharon was born on January 6, 1950, in Breckenridge, MN to Leland and Josephine (Vetter) Larson. She attended Breckenridge High School, graduating in 1968. During her high school days, she worked as a car hop for A & W restaurant in Wahpeton. She married Richard Ferguson in 1969 and together they had two children. Sharon graduated from NDSCS in Wahpeton with an Associate's Degree in Office Systems Technology in 1990. She worked as the 4-H secretary for NDSU Extension from 1990 until 2015, when she retired. She loved cats, reading John Grisham and Danielle Steele novels and spending time with her family. Sharon loved all things NDSU.

Survived by her children, Denise (Todd) Sheppard, Fargo, Scott (Christine) Ferguson, Breckenridge, granddaughters, Rebecca Becker, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Jessica Dolechek, Wahpeton, great-grandchildren, Emily and Blayn Becker, Bismarck, sisters, Judy Hanson, Cape Coral, FL, and Peggy Larson, Moorhead, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Josephine Larson, former spouse, Richard Ferguson and brother-in-law, Richard Goodijohn.
