Stephanie Marilyn Dohman was born on September 1, 1968, to Robert and Marilyn Dohman at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School through the eighth grade before continuing her education at Breckenridge High School, where she graduated in 1987. During her school years, Stephanie was actively involved in track, band, and choir, forming friendships and memories that would last a lifetime.
Following high school, Stephanie worked in various local restaurants, where she became known for her creativity, especially her ability to craft unique and delicious soups from leftover ingredients. Outside of work, she found joy in music and often spent time playing the piano. She also had a deep appreciation for the arts and enjoyed cross-stitching, diamond art, and the intricate craft of Norwegian Hardanger embroidery.
Above all, Stephanie cherished time with her family. She loved playing with her grandchildren and found her greatest happiness in simply being surrounded by her loved ones. Her warmth, creativity, and caring nature touched many lives, and she will be remembered for the love she shared so freely.
Stephanie is survived by her partner, Bruce Johnson; her mother, Marilyn Dohman; her son, Christopher (Elizabeth) Mattis; her daughter, Amber (Devin) Engstrom; her brothers, Mike (Tammie) Dohman, Todd (Marcy) Dohman, and Troy (Cheryl) Dohman; and her beloved grandchildren, Joelle, Harrison, Abigail, Ryker, and Kennedy. She is also survived by her aunt, Marcia Erickson; her uncles, Ray Hansen and Scott Walker; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many who lovingly knew her as “Steph,” “Momma,” and dear friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Dohman; her grandparents, August and Catherine Dohman and Milton and Elaine Erickson; her son, Jace Robert Dohman; and her aunts, Betty Hansen and Deb Walker.
In honor of Stephanie’s joyful spirit and love for fun, the family invites those attending her Celebration of Life to wear their favorite Disney attire.
