Timothy Lawrence Neppl, age 78, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away at St. Francis Nursing Home, Breckenridge, on Friday, September 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of CHI-Health at Home and Hospice. Timothy was born on January 2, 1945 in Breckenridge, MN, to Harold and Laureign (Bellmore) Neppl. He grew up amongst his siblings and was raised on the family farm. He helped with many farm chores and was the caretaker of the chickens where he helped gather eggs and eventually helped milk the dairy cows. After graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1963, he chose to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. Stationed at Norfolk, VA, he proudly served on the Enterprise before being commissioned as a part of the USS America #66. His naval career took him to San Diego, CA, but he ultimately returned home to Minnesota after four years of honorable service.

Timothy returned home and began working at Texico Gas Station in Breckenridge, fate intervened when he met Pat McIntyre through the serendipitous efforts of their mutual acquaintance Jim Vertin. Love blossomed between Timothy and Pat, not immediately but eventually, and they tied the knot on September 14, 1968. Timothy’s career in construction took them from Fargo, ND, to California, where they were blessed with their son, Shaun. He also obtained his Journeyman’s License, joined the carpenter’s union, and worked as a maintenance engineer at various facilities. A testament to his upbringing Timothy never missed a day of work—a trait that earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him and he honed his skills as a maintenance engineer at a hospital and later, at Rancho Seco Powerplant.

In 1986, he started a new chapter at West Park Village Retirement Center, where he played a pivotal role in constructing the facility and later served as a beloved maintenance engineer for two decades until his retirement in 2006, leaving a lasting legacy of dedication.

While Timothy was dedicated to his work, he also found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed whiskey, women, and playing pool. Yet, his greatest source of joy was his cherished grandchildren, whom he loved unconditionally. Timothy's charisma was evident while he partied on the dance floor and his vibrant spirit and infectious energy could brighten any room he graced.

Timothy will be forever remembered by his surviving family members: his son, Shaun (Jennifer) Neppl; grandsons, Carter and Tyler Neppl; siblings, Trudy Such, Morris Neppl, Carol LeNoue, and Renee (Scott) Rossow; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; former wife Pat (Marilyn) McIntyre-Neppl; and former daughter-in-law Heather Burns.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Laureign (Bellmore) Neppl; siblings, Kenny Neppl, Richard Neppl, Marjorie Polansky, Terry Neppl, Nila Grenz, Jay Neppl, and Randy Neppl; nephews, Billy LeNoue, Philip Neppl, Greg Neppl, and Mark Polansky; and great-nephews, Samuel "Sam" Bakken and Nicholas "Nick" Helgeson.
