William, fondly remembered as “Bill,” was born on March 26, 1947, in Breckenridge, MN, to William Sr. and Evelyn (Fobes) Stach. He grew up on the family farm near Wolverton, MN, and attended school in Breckenridge, where he made a name for himself in wrestling. After graduating from Breckenridge High School, Bill took a leap of faith and joined the United States Air Force in June of 1966, serving honorably as a mechanic until January of 1970. He continued to work as a mechanic after his time in the Air Force, serving many local areas in North Dakota and Minnesota. Life blessed him with a son, Brian, and a daughter, Shelli. Bill's entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own business, SAV Siding, a venture that not only provided for his family but also became a part of his legacy. He successfully ran the business for many years before passing it on to his son.
In 2007, Bill found love again and married Marion Anderson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN. Their union brought their families together, and Bill became a cherished step-father to Cheryl and Dale. Bill and Marion shared a love for travel, embarking on numerous bus trips across the country and departed on an amazing Alaskan cruise. In his leisure time, Bill found joy in fishing and hunting. He was often seen dancing to his favorite tunes, sweeping his bride off her feet on the dancefloor. He also enjoyed playing cards and visiting the casino. But above all, his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent creating memories with them.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marion Anderson/Stach; children, Brian (Denise Hitterdal) Stach of Lake Park, MN, and Shelli (Rob) Staiger of Moorhead, MN; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean (Jerry) Russell, and Sue (Jeff) Rasmussen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Sr., and Evelyn Stach; sisters, Peggy Stach and Sandy Miller; and brothers-in-law, Mike Miller and Jerry Martin.
