Obituary

Mary Ann Keehn, age 77, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Twin Town Villa, Breckenridge. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 12 PM to 1 PM followed by her 1 PM memorial service at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. Fr. Dale Lagodinski will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John's Catholic School in Wahpeton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.

Mary Ann Donahue was born in Batavia, NY, on October 25, 1944, to Donald and Grace (Flood) Donahue. She attended school in Batavia and then furthered her education at Geneseo State College. She graduated in 1966, and taught first grade in Holland, NY.

Mary Ann lived in Belcourt, ND, and taught at the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) school system, before moving to Wahpeton in February of 1975. She started teaching at St. John’s School in 1978 and worked there for many years. Mary Ann was so thankful for the staff at St. John’s. They became her second family and she loved them dearly. She also wanted to thank her card-playing buddies, Cheryl Woodruff, Gertie Strege, and Lois Klein, for adding so much joy to her life.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Grace Donahue; brother, Emmett Donahue; sister, Caryn Kulenkamp.

She is survived by her son, Tim (Shawna) Keehn; granddaughters, Judy and Alyssa; sisters, Sue Badger and Kathy (Mike Fahey) Donahue; and several other loving family members and friends.
